Sometimes, it just takes one step. Not a giant leap or a rush to the finish line, but a single, simple step right in front of you. These past few months, I’ve really started to see that big changes don’t have to happen all at once. You don’t need to reach your goals overnight. It’s becoming clearer to me that enjoying the journey is just as important, if not more so, than getting to the destination.
For the first time ever, I’m not obsessing over the end goal. Instead, I’m living in the moment, focusing on the steps right in front of me. It’s like I’m finally understanding what it means to live in the now. I used to be all about the future, chasing after my goals and dreams. Now, I see that life is happening right here, in this moment.
If you’re living the life you want, exactly how you want, I am genuinely happy for you. But if you find yourself unhappy, exhausted, or feeling 'blah'—or if you’re just okay—is that how you want to continue? We all hold ourselves back in one way or another, often due to fear: fear of change, fear of the unknown, fear of insecurity and safety, or fear of losing love and connection. There's a myriad of fears that prevent us from being, doing, having, and creating the lives we yearn for and becoming the people we aspire to be. Often, fear stems from looking too far ahead, making the largest decisions first, or dreaming big without knowing how it will manifest. But the 'how' isn't where our focus should be. The 'how' will reveal itself when we're ready, left to a higher power—be it God, the universe, our angels, spirit guides, ancestors, higher selves, or whatever you believe in. It’s not even about the 'what'. If you're uncertain about what you want or where to go, that's what exploration is for. You'll always be guided to where you're meant to be, at the precise moment you're meant to be there. If you don't know what you want, be open to exploring, be willing to see what lies ahead, waiting for you.
But here’s the thing: the person you want to become is already inside you. You don’t need to chase after a version of yourself. Take some time to really connect with who you are. You might be surprised to find that you’re already the person you’ve been trying to be. Moreover, the things we desire, the feelings we yearn for, and the states of being we chase after are also within our grasp. It all starts with aligning ourselves with the vibrations of those desires. But again, that's about tuning in with ourselves and being present to truly resonate with the vibration of those desires. This is achieved by experiencing joy, love, gratitude, and happiness wherever we can find it.
How would achieving what you want or being who you want to be make you feel? Embody that feeling. Experience it, feel it, not in a minute, an hour, a month, or a year, but right now—and keep doing that. Focus on what gives you those feelings. Visualize and remember what experiences have given you that sensation.
Quiet the noise, reconnect with yourself again, allow your heart to be heard, allow your soul to be heard, allow yourself to be filled with joy or at least explore and go for adventures until you truly find joy. Let us make this life as magical as it can be, let us dream, let us give ourselves permission to have joy and happiness, let us be more present, let us focus on the now and enjoy the journey.
Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying to abandon your dreams, aspirations, or goals altogether. It's not about diminishing the significance of having a vision for our future. Instead, it's about finding a balance between envisioning our desired outcomes and appreciating the journey it takes to get there. Often, we place immense pressure on ourselves to reach a specific destination, whether it's a career milestone, a relationship goal, or a personal achievement. We become fixated on the end result, allowing it to consume our thoughts and overshadow the beauty of the present moment.
But here's the thing: when we're solely focused on the destination, we miss out on the richness of the journey. Life unfolds in the here and now, in the small, meaningful steps we take each day. So, instead of getting caught up in the pressure of where we think we should be, let's shift our attention to the step right in front of us. By focusing on the present moment and the actions we can take today, we not only alleviate the overwhelming burden of future expectations but also empower ourselves to make tangible progress towards our goals. It's about embracing the journey with open arms, celebrating every victory along the way, and navigating obstacles with resilience and grace.
While it's essential to have a vision for the future and to work towards our goals, let's not forget to appreciate the journey itself—the moments of growth, the challenges overcome, and the lessons learned. It's in these moments that we truly find fulfillment and joy.
This approach to life invites us to be architects of our own happiness, crafting moments that resonate with our deepest desires and truest selves. It challenges us to redefine success, not as a distant endpoint but as a living, breathing experience that unfolds with each present moment we fully embrace.
So, let’s choose to focus on what genuinely nourishes our souls, to visualize not only the future we aspire to but also to cherish the present moments that bring us closer to that vision. Choose to feel, choose to create, choose it right now, and most importantly, choose you. By doing so, we not only journey closer to our dreams but also ensure that the journey itself is filled with joy, love, and the very essence of living.
Have an incredible year ahead.
