7 ways to be less serious and have more fun!

I have recently been taking things and life a bit seriously lately and you might be too. Look, I can give you a list of why we all take things so seriously, but that would probably stress you out even more, and it is not the aim or theme of this blog. I know there may be so much to be serious about; however, there is always time to let loose and take a break and actually have some fun, even if it is just for one day. Look - you can always go back to taking things and life seriously, but be willing to just let go for a bit and just have some fun. Oh, and when it comes to this, I am saying the same thing to myself! I recently realized that instead of having fun, dreaming and believing in the signs, I have been getting or manifestations I want to come in, I have been worried, concerned and controlling. When I say controlling, I mean wanting to know every detail. I am not the best with not knowing things even though I thought I was past that, but it looks like it’s still a work in progress. No matter what is making you take things, life, yourself, or others too seriously, it is still important to enjoy life, to fantasise, to dream and give yourself some self-love. It’s simple - give yourself permission to have fun, to be happy, to let loose and to have a joyful time. By doing this, you are giving yourself the unconditional love you and your soul desires. So, with that being said, maybe it is time to have some fun, let go and stop taking life so seriously. Today, I am going to help with just that with some great tips below!



1. See life as a game


Be willing to see life as a game, see each move you’re going to make as if you are playing this ultimate game. Act as if you are living in a game and each time you are having fun, enjoying life, showing yourself and others love you are winning. You can also think about the problems you are taking so seriously as if it is a game. By finding and getting to the solutions means you win and each step, you take means you are closer to winning that game. There so many ideas about how to make things into a game but instead of me giving you anymore start thinking about how you can make the things you are doing, the things you’re taking seriously and manifesting the things you want and can turn it into a game that is fun. Get your imagination going and have some fun with it!


2. Be a child again, let your inner child come out to play


Similarly, to the first one you can have a lot of fun with this! When we become adults and responsibilities come, we forget that there is a part of us that is actually still a child. Our child self never just randomly dies off when we become and adult, it is still within all of us. And, if I am being honest, I know at least for me and the people around me, I can see it is definitely not allowed out enough! Our child self deserves to have fun, to let go and to simply be a child again as much as it needs to without judgment or being pushed aside. Even seeing things from the eyes of a child can give you a whole new perspective on whatever you’re taking too seriously, or having issues within your life. You can even write a letter and act as if you are you as a child and what you would say or if you have a question to ask. Imagine yourself a child, ask yourself questions, and answer yourself as if you are still a child. Do things that you found fun and joyful while you were a child. Take 5 minutes, an hour, 2 hours to just allow your child self to have some fun and let loose. You will be surprised how fun it can be!




3. Laugh and smile more


We don’t laugh or smile enough throughout the day! You would be surprised how much of a fun and good time you would be having if you made more of an effort to smile and laugh more and to do things to help with that. When things get too seriously think about things that make you laugh and smile and even keep things in mind for those serious moments to help you not take things so seriously. Think about a memory that makes you happy, smile or laugh for example; think about something that makes you smile like a loved one for example, or think about a funny joke that will make you laugh. Our mindset matters, what we are thinking about matters and when we shift into things that lifts our spirits, it can really help with whatever situation is at hand, and help us attract more of what we actually want which can be joy, love, abundance and happiness for example, instead of what we don’t.


4. Be present


When you become present and work on being in the present moment rather than thinking and being in your mind, it helps give you time to not be so serious and brings you back to your center. When you are present, it helps you realize that no matter what serious thing you are focus on or why you are being so serious is actually okay in this moment. The more present you become, the lighter you become! Focus on being present; be present with yourself, with the people around you and being present in the moment because when you do you can truly live in each moment and experience more fully. You never know what fun you might miss because you weren’t present.


5. Let the thoughts go!


We have thousands and thousands of thoughts each and every day and our thoughts are powerful! - it is important to work on noticing when your thoughts aren’t going down a good path especially when it comes to the doubts or fears you have. It is important to work through those doubts and fears, but if you don’t have time in that moment to, then it is time to let them go. You can choose whatever way you want to let them go, but here are some examples: you can say, “Hey, fear or doubt, this is not true, we can work on this later. I let go of you because I trust, believe and have faith that everything is going to work out for me and that what I want will happen and that the signs I have been getting I can trust. Let go of the thoughts and stop giving power to these thoughts. Each time you decide to believe a thought, you give power to it. Instead, let it go and give power to thoughts that you want to believe, thoughts that are in alignment with your higher self/ideal self, thoughts that are of a high vibration, thoughts that are in alignment with what you want, thoughts that make you happy, that make you laugh, that fill you with love and joy and thoughts that help you feel light and that help you let loose and have more fun.


Like I said previously, I took things too seriously with the signs I have been getting about a certain situation. Instead of having fun with it, allowing myself to believe in the signs I have been getting and being creative, open, and optimistic with the thoughts I have been having, I found myself wanting more details, getting stressed about if it would or wouldn’t happen, how it will happen, how I need to prepare for the situation coming my way. I allowed my thoughts to get the better of me because I was too afraid to let go completely, to let go of control, to live in possibilities, to dream, to fantasise and to believe. – because what if? What if it didn’t happen? What if the signs I have been getting were all in my head? What if I was wrong? What if I get hurt? I can be a realistic all I want but sometimes in order not to take things too seriously and actually let go and have fun, I need to be willing to work on my fears and doubts and the thoughts that aren’t in alignment with the outcome I desire and to just dream -and the same goes for you, if this resonates with you at all.


6. Let go and visualize it!


We just talked about allowing ourselves to dream a bit, well the best way to dream and fantasise about the things you want or a shift in the situation that is making you so serious is to visualize it! Have fun and visualize the life you want, the things you want, the people you want in your life, how you want things and situations to go. Allow yourself to dream, fantasise and explore because you deserve to, and you never know what you could manifest once you do. This is the perfect way to let go and allow your imagination to go wild and have a lot of fun doing so.


7. Ask yourself, ask others or ask for a sign


You can be surprised how you can shift your mood and realise how serious you are taking things and how much joy you can get back simply asking yourself some questions. Here are some examples to get you started:


· What will make you happy in this moment?

· How can you have fun right now?

· How can you make the things that you are taking so seriously fun?

· And if it is something too serious, emotional, traumatic, or hard to deal with then how can you make the situation better? Or, how you can make yourself or someone feel better?


Ask yourself the right questions that are relevant to you, these are just some suggestions to get you thinking about how you can bring more fun into your life. You can also ask others how you can let go and have more fun or ask how they do it. You can also get help and support when it comes to the things you are taking too seriously. And if you can’t come up with anything, ask for a sign or help from God, the universe, your spiritual team, your higher self or whatever you believe in to know how to let go of things, to know how to have more fun and to know how to feel better about the situation at hand. Whatever you believe they are always there to help, support and guide you, you just need to ask and be willing to be present and look out for the signs and answers that come your way.



At the end of the day, you deserve to dream, you deserve to believe in miracles, you deserve to have fun and allow your child self out, you deserve to open your heart to the possibilities and signs all around you. Simply believe and trust that the answers you’re getting from whatever you believe in and your intuition, will guide you. Sometimes it is about letting go of all logic and understanding and allowing even for a moment for your heart to take control and be open to all the miracles coming your way. Have faith and trust in your heart that something bigger than you will help you and that everything will work out how it is meant to. Allow the magic of fun back into your heart! You never know what you can create or what experiences or possibilities will occur once you do.
